About Us
With your help, we can change the world, one pair of socks at a time.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Gospel Socks is to provide new socks and other items to those in need while also sharing the love of Jesus. Gospel Socks has provided over 100,000 pairs of socks to homeless shelters, hurricane shelters, and children in foster care around the state, and even in Puerto Rico, Africa, and Japan! We have reached so many people in need, protecting their feet while sharing the freedom and hope found in Jesus at the same time! Every pair of socks, underwear, and backpack that gets donated has a sticker on it with a Bible verse, 1 John 4:9. Together we bring Christ to thousands and give new socks to those in need.
How We Got Started
At the age of 11, Emily West, made it her mission to collect and donate new socks to help the homeless. So with the help of her family, she created Gospel Socks.
“In February of 2017, I was on a choir trip in San Antonio, TX. I had so much fun but saw so many homeless people that needed help. I wanted to do something about it. I came home to Fort Worth and talked with my family about ways we could help. Our church talks about sharing the Gospel (the good news about Jesus) with the spiritually disconnected, equipping families, and defending those in need. We researched a little and quickly found out that socks are one of the most needed items at homeless shelters. So, on February 11, 2017, the Gospel Socks idea was born. We decided to put a Bible verse (1 John 4:9) on each pair of socks, to share Jesus and hopefully warm their hearts as we warm their feet! With your help, we can change the world, one pair of socks at a time.” -Emily West
